When a good source is found, the bee performs a special "waggle dance" to inform other bees. Nectar Collection: Once the location is communicated, other bees rush to the source and collect nectar, filling their honey sacs (honey stomachs). Nectar Processing: Upon returning to the hive, the nectar—primarily composed of disaccharides (sucrose and water)—is broken down into monosaccharides (glucose, fructose, and water molecules). Transformation: The nectar is passed mouth-to-mouth from bee to bee, gradually achieving the desired honey consistency. However, at this stage, it is still immature due to its high moisture content. Maturation: The honey is stored in honeycomb cells and left to mature, allowing moisture levels to naturally reduce to below 20%.
